- 1 in 3 no longer concentrates while driving on the road and 43 percent have said they are reckless
- Accidents have been caused by one out of ten
- Road rage incidents have been reportedly indulged in by 50%
- Surveys undertaken show that the British worry most about arriving late at business meetings; next in line being kids' school pickups; getting to work; meeting their partners for a romantic dinner.
- When they are not on the roads, 50% rush their meals and their housework, 13 percent rush the homework they help children with and 6 percent even rush the sex

With British drivers hurrying around to meet rising work and family commitments, accidents and road rage are becoming common according to a recent survey conducted by the car hire comparator Carrental.co.uk.

Lifestyle choices and how they are carried out was the subject of the questionnaire posed by Carrental.co.uk to about 800 drivers. Regular rushing to work was admitted by 60%, while 43 percent admitted to recklessly rushing, aggressive driving, speeding and dangerous overtaking.

As pressure builds with time, a third of the people interviewed admitted bad concentration on roads when in a rush with one in ten experiencing injuries or accidents.

Accidents have differed from minor ones like lamppost reversals and fender benders to losing control at high speed or hitting pedestrians at marked road crossings.

There is a growing trend of road rage cases involving being followed with lights flashed, open physical abuse, attacks of a violent nature and being bullied off the road. As stresses build with increasingly busy lives, roads are turning into dangerous grounds as people are trying to cope with time constraints by rushing.

Getting late for their partners' romantic dinner is a cause for worry for many respondents. Many of them claim reaching late for work is an even greater worry. Overall, the majority - some 41 percent said that the greatest cause for worry was arriving late for a business meeting followed by their children's school pickup, then reaching office on time.

Out of the vehicle; people are hurrying life in general, eating in a rush being the most common, next was housework, then catching up with friends and homework help they offered the children. Sex being rushed was admitted to by only 6.5 percent but one man made it clear his wife complained to him about just that.

Gareth Robinson the Managing Director of car comparator Carrental.co.uk said that this is an experience that is shared by most British drivers as people struggle to cope with lifestyles that have become more hectic by the day and work commitments that also seem to be on the rise making people prone to last-minute rush. He warned that driving when concentration is poor, makes the road dangerous for the driver as well as innocent passers-by and may eventually cause fatalities.

He also expressed his surprise that the research has thrown up work related issues as being the highest contributor for rushing and said he was astonished that people risked life and limb to hurry to work. He hoped drivers carefully think it over before speeding again the next time they are late.
